Finally got around to testing the new tripod I purchased a couple of months ago. Sad that it took me so long, I know, but I’ve been busy with other things. Hopefully, I will shoot something decent soon, but I had a bit of time on my hands this evening and decided to make this test clip. Nothing fancy, just messing about in the kitchen testing the pan and tilt features.

Note: The full-sized HD (high def) version can be viewed here.

For some reason my hands were shaking (nervous I suppose from not having picked up this camera in over two months) so the clip isn’t nearly as smooth as it could have been. But it’s certainly not the tripod this time. Compared to my old one that I used in the previous clips, the Velbon DV-7000 is smooth as silk. Not a bad little fluid-head for the price. Now all I have to do is learn the tension controls and work on getting my technique down. Practice. Practice. Practice.

Oh, and because this clip is a bit dull, I tried to spice it up a bit with one of my all-time favourite tunes, “So What,” by the incomparable jazz trumpeter, bandleader and composer, Mr. Miles Dewey Davis III, founder and headmaster of The Cool School. Enjoy!
