Weigh-In: Week 1 - Take 2

Okay, this is a quickie post. I’m back from my second St. Louis trip and with a bit of good news in tow. The day before I left, I changed my mind and decided to go ahead and enjoy myself — within reason. I realised that, in my then state of mind, it was a bit unreasonable to think that I would forego all foodie pleasures with my family. After all, I only get home a couple of times a year as it is. No, I did not party like a rock star this time. I actually managed to drink lots of water and completely abstain from alcoholic beverages of any kind. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a change to hit the Ethiopian restaurant with my brother who graduated, but another one of my brothers and I did get a change to visit one of our regular Chinese joints for some absolutely fabulous shrimp egg fu yong and crab rangoon.
Other than that, I ate the rest of my meals at my parent’s, though I didn’t have to prepare them. My Mom still enjoys cooking for us and she’s pretty light on the salt. So, despite the sodium-laden Chinese food, I did manage to drop three pounds of water weight and for that I am truly grateful. All-in-all, things went okay and now I’m in the process of setting up my August goals.
Now that I’m back, it’s on and poppin’!
