The Humpty Dance Is Your Chance…

…to bear witness to the off-the-CHAIN stylings of Humpty (pronounced with an Ump-tee). HA! I just had to share this video. This piece is classic!

When Gregory Jacobs, better known as Shock G. (founder and frontman of the hip-hop group, Digital Underground), morphs into his alter ego, Humpty — he rocks the party like no other.

My favourite line of this cut is the opening: “Alright, stop what cha doin’ cause I’m about to ruin the image and the style that you’re used to.” I love it!

The Humpty Dance will never die! NE-VER! Yep, I’m a hip-hop head from way back in the day when rap/hip-hop was fresh and clean. I’m talkin’ totally into master rappers and funkateers such as The Sugar Hill Gang, Grand Master Flash, Run DMC, Parliment, Funkadelic and the like … but that’s another story for another time.

For those who don’t already know, this is how Humpty looks without all the props. Yep, he’s a cutie! Mos def!
