WW Weigh-In: Weeks 6 thru 14

urban masala on 03 14, 2009

It’s been a minute since I reported anything on the weight-loss front. Well, truth is, I’ve been strugglin’ BIG time, y’all. I pretty much “fell off the wagon” around Valentine’s Day. Now, I haven’t been going completely berserk, but I haven’t been “on plan” or attending meetings either. As a result, I am approximately 12 pounds or so behind my original goal. I had been hovering around the 260 mark for the past 4 weeks, so I am happy to announce that I’ve finally broken 260. This morning I weighed in at 255, down 5.0 pounds since last Saturday. This brings my total loss to 28.2 (10 percent of my starting weight of 283.2) since I began on Dec 6, 2008. A nice little milestone for which I am truly grateful. It’s been a long time coming, but it appears that I am finally back on track.

So, yes, my weight-loss journey is still in full effect. As of today, I have started counting points again and will resume attending WW meetings on March 21. However, I’ve decided to discontinue my weekly “WW Weigh-In” posts. Instead, I will simply update the front page sidebar* each week and post weight-loss related entries only when I feel I have something significant to say. My “Rewards Account” will remain at 10 dollar per pound, so the current balance will always be equal to the amount of my total weight loss.

I haven’t been cooking much for the past few weeks and I’ve started to miss it (home-cooked meals have been a huge and exteremely important component of my weight-loss success). I also miss my beloved food photography and have decided to start cooking again on the regular. I will, of course, preserve my masterpieces on digital and post them here, along with other recipes I decide to try. The focus will be on healthy meals that are not only conducive to weight loss, but also asetheticially appealing and fabulously delicious.

As you can see from previous entries, I’ve been concentrating on more than just weight loss lately. I’ve really gotten into this videography thing and I’m about pick up photography again. For this reason, I’ve decided to split this blog (eventually), though I am not yet sure when or how. But you’ll know it when it happens, obviously. What I do know for sure is that I am going to spin off all of my personal blog entries, including my weight-loss journey, leaving urban:masala proper as the hub for my photography- and videography-related posts, exclusively. I will, of course, provide a link to my personal blog for all who wish to continue reading it. For now, I will continue posting all entries here as I begin to work on new designs and layouts. I’ll keep you posted.

Namasté!

Rewards Account Current Balance: $280.00

*Note:  New computer; have not yet transferred any old files (busy with other stuff), but I will fully update front page sidebar within the next few week or so.

Hey girl…congrats on the loss! Thanks for the words of encouragement. I’m feeling focused again (and I’m back to putting myself as top priority!)

Hey C! Thanks, girlie. I was beginning to wonder if I would EVER start losing again. LOL

You’re quite welcome. Good for you. Staying focused is essential to success and placing yourself as top priority will ensure you don’t neglect you.

We absolutely must stick together and encourage one another; helps make the journey a little bit easier.
